Education
Glycobiology is undertaught in the classroom, and as a result instructors have had little opportunity to build experience teaching it. The BioF:GREAT education team is addressing both problems together — developing instructional material across levels, testing whether it works, and making the results freely available.
What we are building
- Transform fundamental instruction in biology by developing a suite of instructional experiences — from small modules to stand-alone glycoscience courses — at high-school, undergraduate and graduate levels, using best pedagogical practices, evaluating for improvement, and testing for effectiveness and impact.
- Create educational YouTube videos on introductory areas in glycoscience, to emphasise impact across biology and to cover focused “hot topics” areas of discovery.
- Develop new hands-on summer courses in “Glycoenzymes and AI tools in glycoengineering” and “Glycoanalytics”.
